Mumbai: Everyone was waiting for the third chapter of Panchayat for the past two years, and the latest instalment surprises, amuses, bedazzles and falters — all at once. This time, Panchayat 3 gets political as the show opens a new chapter on politics of rural India and bureaucracy, led by an exceptional cast such as Jitendra Kumar, Neena Gupta, Raghubir Yadav, onscreen.

The series will continue to be directed by Deepak Kumar Mishra, who told PTI that the crew behind the series has already started work on season 4 of the series, with season 5 also in the pipeline.
The series is being written by Chandan Kumar, produced by The Viral Fever, and will star actors such as Jitendra Kumar, Neena Gupta, Raghubir Yadav, Faisal Malik, Chandan Roy and Sanvikaa. Many of these actors shared their excitement with the release of the new season on Instagram.
The plot of the series revolves around an engineering student called Abhishek Tripathi, played by Jitendra Kumar, who has to take up the position of a secretary in a Panchayat due to lack of other job options. This leads to him getting caught up in the local politics of the fictional village in Uttar Pradesh called Phulera.
The new season of the show will follow Abhishek trying to navigate the political issues of the village during a volatile period, that being the elections. As the many different gangs of the village try and improve their standing among the locals, either through beneficiary work or violence, Abhishek needs to balance his responsibilities with the village with his goals to study for his school.
