The Baloch Liberation Army (BLA) announced that its fighters killed more than 80 Pakistani troops and captured 18 during a series of coordinated assaults across Balochistan.

The group described the operation as “Operation Herof Phase II” and claimed responsibility for attacks that lasted nearly ten hours across multiple districts.

According to BLA spokesperson Jeeyand Baloch, fighters struck military, police, and intelligence installations in Quetta, Gwadar, Turbat, Mastung, Panjgur, and several other towns. The group alleged destruction of over 30 government properties, including offices and prisons, and reported that more than 20 vehicles were set ablaze. Videos circulating on social media appeared to show rebels taking control of markets and security posts.

The BLA stated that 84 Pakistani personnel were killed, dozens were wounded, and 18 were taken hostage. The group also admitted losing seven of its own fighters, including members of its elite “Majeed Brigade.” It portrayed their deaths as sacrifices that enabled temporary control of targeted sites.

Pakistani authorities had not issued an official confirmation of the casualty figures at the time of reporting. Historically, government accounts of such incidents differ from militant claims. Analysts noted that communication lines in several districts were disrupted, limiting independent verification.

The BLA insisted that local residents supported the operation by providing shelter, food, and water. While difficult to verify, such claims reflect the long-standing grievances in Balochistan over autonomy, resource control, and alleged human rights abuses by Pakistani forces.

The insurgency in Balochistan has persisted for decades, with periodic large-scale attacks disrupting life in the province. The situation remains fluid, and heightened security measures are expected in the aftermath of the reported incidents.
