Bhubaneswar: The BJP MLAs on Wednesday disrupted the Assembly, accusing the government of using brutal police tactics to stifle opposition protests in Bhubaneswar on Tuesday.
The opposition MLAs squatted in the well of the House over the issue. Following this, Speaker adjourned the House till 11.30 am.
Notably, on Tuesday, hundreds of protesters under the banner of BJP Yuva Morcha took out a massive rally at lower PMG square protesting the Crime Branch investigation into the Naba Das murder case and the deteriorating law and order situation.
The situation turned ugly after a scuffle erupted between BJP activists and security forces when police were trying to stop the protesters who were forcefully heading towards the State Assembly to gherao it.
