Prime Minister Narendra Modi, during his monthly radio address Mann Ki Baat on Sunday, hailed Operation Sindoor as a powerful reflection of a “changing India”—one marked by resolve, courage, and a growing global stature.
“Operation Sindoor was not just a military mission,” Modi declared. “It is the face of a new India that does not hesitate to act, and acts with precision, purpose, and pride.”
He said the entire country is united in its resolve against terrorism, filled with “anger and determination,” and praised the pinpoint accuracy with which Indian forces executed the cross-border strikes on terror infrastructure.
Calling it a milestone in the global war on terrorism, the Prime Minister noted, “Operation Sindoor has infused new confidence and energy into the global fight against terrorism.”
He emphasised that the mission wasn’t a one-off action but symbolic of India’s clarity and growing defence capabilities, driven by indigenous innovation. “This was the ultimate bravery of our soldiers, backed by the power of weapons, equipment, and technology made in India,” he said, linking the success to the Aatmanirbhar Bharat (self-reliant India) mission.
Modi also touched on the nationwide wave of solidarity following the operation. “Youth wrote poems, sang songs of courage, and volunteered for civil defence. Children painted images with powerful messages. The Tiranga Yatras held in various cities showcased the nation’s pride,” he said.
He recounted that during a recent visit to Bikaner, children gifted him paintings inspired by the operation. In Katihar and Kushinagar, families even named their newborns Sindoor to honour the mission.
The Prime Minister credited the success of the operation to India’s growing domestic defence sector and renewed calls for supporting local manufacturing. “This victory carries the sweat of our engineers, technicians, and every citizen who contributed,” he said.
Post-Operation Sindoor, he noted a visible surge in support for the Vocal for Local campaign, tying national pride with economic self-reliance.
“Operation Sindoor is the picture of our changing India—bold, capable, and united. And this spirit will continue to define our future,” Modi concluded.
