Indian security forces successfully gunned down three suspected Pakistani terrorists in a joint operation named Operation Mahadev near Mount Mahadev in the Lidwas region of Srinagar.
According to sources, the slain individuals are believed to be involved in the devastating Pahalgam terror attack that occurred three months ago, claiming 26 lives. The encounter unfolded after intelligence inputs and suspicious communication intercepted in the jungles of Dachigam alerted the Army.
Local nomadic communities corroborated these findings, further guiding the Army, J&K Police, and CRPF in launching the high-risk operation. After a brief but intense exchange of gunfire, the trio was neutralised, ending a long trail of fear and violence they allegedly sparked.
The operation site, nestled near the scenic Mount Mahadev, turned into a tactical battleground as security personnel swiftly cornered the suspects. The coordinated response is being hailed as a successful crackdown on foreign infiltration and cross-border terrorism.
This strike marks a decisive chapter in India’s continuing fight against terror threats emanating from across the border. The forces are now conducting follow-up sweeps in the surrounding areas to ensure complete neutralisation of any affiliated groups.
