Kyiv: At least one person was killed while several suffered injuries after Russian forces shelled Kyiv.
Kyiv mayor Viltali Klitschko said the casualties were the result of an air strike that hit a car park outside a shopping mall in Kyiv’s Podil district.
The attacks came as Ukrainian forces gained some ground against invading Russian troops attempting to surround the city, according Klitschko.
The Ukrainian capital has been under curfew since the beginning of the week. Klitschko said the measure was necessary because of information from the military about possible attacks.
He said dozens of saboteurs had been arrested since the start of the conflict.
