Odisha Vigilance Unearths Massive Assets from Mahakalpada Tehsildar

The arrest was made in connection with Cuttack Vigilance PS Case No.29 dated 23.09.2025, registered under Section 7 of the Prevention of Corruption (Amendment) Act, 2018.

According to official sources, the bribe was demanded from a complainant seeking assistance in the eviction of an illegal structure obstructing access to his residence. Following the trap laid by Vigilance officials, Mallick was apprehended and is being produced before the court today.

During house searches, the following assets unearthed in the name of Sri Siba Mallick, OAS, Tahsildar and his family members include:

1) One Market complex (triple storeyed building) constructed in the year, 2024 comprising 3 big halls and 3 shops at Bhagabatpur, Kendrapara.

2) One double storeyed building constructed in the year, 2024-25 with an area 2700 Sq. ft. at Ganeshpur, Kendrapara.

3) Another double storeyed building constructed in the year, 2018-19 with an area 4600 Sq. ft. at Baghilobabanpur, Derabis, Kendrapara.

4) 7 valuable plots on the outskirts of Kendrapara town (details are below);

i) One plot vide No.1327, Khata No.247 with area Ac 0.160 dcml. at Ganeshpur, Kendrapara.

ii) One plot vide No.1321, Khata No.331 with area Ac 0.840 dcml. at Ganeshpur, Kendrapara.

iii) One plot vide No.3671, Khata No.1626/439 with area Ac 0.200 dcml. at Gulasingh, Kendrapara.

iv) One plot vide No.2108, Khata No.781 with area Ac 0.250 dcml. at Gulasingh, Kendrapara.

v) One plot vide No.781/2489, Khata No.885/359 with area Ac 0.0122 dcml. at Bhagabatpur, Kendrapara.

vi) One plot vide No.781/2504, Khata No.885/383 with area Ac 0.0078 dcml. at Bhagabatpur, Kendrapara.

vii) One plot at Baghilobabanpur, Derabis with an area Ac 0.165 dcml. Kendrapara.

5) Cash Rs.1.54 lakhs.

6) 4 two-wheelers.

7) Household articles approx Rs.7 lakhs.

Further enquiry is going on to evaluate assets on DA (Disproportionate Assets) angle beyond his known sources of income.
