Odisha Urban Conclave 2025 kicked off today in Bhubaneswar, uniting urban leaders, policymakers, and innovators to shape the future of cities across the state.
The Housing & Urban Development Department organized the two-day event to align with the long-term goals of Viksit Odisha by 2036 and Viksit Bharat by 2047. Dr. Krushna Chandra Mohapatra, Minister for Housing & Urban Development, inaugurated the conclave and emphasized the need for sustainable infrastructure, efficient service delivery, and empowered local governance.
Meanwhile, Smt. Usha Padhee, Principal Secretary of the department, outlined the state’s urban roadmap. She highlighted the importance of citizen-centric planning, collaborative governance, and digital transformation. Earlier, Arindam Dakua, Director of Municipal Administration, welcomed participants and set the tone for the sessions.
Throughout the day, the conclave addressed key areas such as urban governance, mobility, e-governance, financial management, sanitation, housing, and water supply. Experts shared strategies to improve service delivery, strengthen municipal finance, and increase transparency in Urban Local Bodies.
Additionally, sessions spotlighted the PM SVANidhi scheme and its impact on urban livelihoods. Municipal Commissioners, Executive Officers, and Engineers from across Odisha actively participated, offering insights into successful initiatives and ongoing challenges.
Furthermore, speakers called for stronger collaboration among stakeholders and encouraged data-driven decision-making to build resilient, inclusive cities. The conclave created a vibrant platform for knowledge exchange, partnership building, and policy dialogue.
