A high-level meeting was held today at 11 AM in the Conference Hall on the 2nd Floor of Lok Seva Bhawan, Bhubaneswar, to advance regional urban development.
Chaired by Minister of Housing & Urban Development, Dr. Krushna Chandra Mahapatra, the session spotlighted the preparation of a Comprehensive Development Plan (CDP) for Baripada, Mayurbhanj.
Present during the meeting was Principal Secretary of the H&UD Department, Usha Padhee, alongside other senior officials and planners. The primary agenda focused on identifying infrastructural gaps and charting a cohesive roadmap for Baripada’s evolution into a well-planned urban hub.
Key discussions underscored the importance of sustainable housing, improved connectivity, water supply systems, and civic amenities that resonate with the region’s cultural and ecological landscape. Officials stressed the urgency of stakeholder engagement, data-driven urban strategies, and environmentally conscious execution.
Dr. Mahapatra emphasised that the plan aims not only to elevate Baripada’s urban infrastructure but also to create inclusive growth opportunities that reflect the aspirations of its residents.
The meeting reaffirmed Odisha’s commitment to balanced development across its northern districts, with Baripada positioned as a key beneficiary of the state’s forward-thinking urban vision.
