Bhubaneswar: To elicit more information in connection with the tragic train mishap at Bahanaga Bazaar Station in Balasore, the Central Investigation Bureau (CBI) on Saturday interrogated the three Railway employees arrested yesterday evening.
According to sources, the three arrested accused underwent marathon questioning at Chandaka police station in Bhubaneswar since Saturday morning.
The CBI investigators are digging more to ascertain the involvement of others in this tragic train accident and whether it is a man-made error or a conspiracy.
Sources said that Senior Sectional Engineer Arun Kumar Mahanta, who was arrested on Saturday morning, was first interrogated for two hours alone. Later, two other railway employees, Section Engineer Mohammad Amir Khan and Technician Pappu Kumar, were interrogated separately.
Later, all three accused were interrogated altogether.
While the CBI officials are trying to find out who else is involved in this case, it has been informed by a reliable source that, another railway employee has been summoned by the CBI for questioning.
It is pertinent to mention here that the Special CBI court in Bhubaneswar on Friday evening granted the investigation agency to take the three accused persons on a 5-day remand for interrogation and further probe in the triple train tragedy case.
