Deputy Chief Minister of Odisha, Kanak Vardhan Singh Deo, participated in the 4th Confederation of Indian Industries (CII) East India Summit 2025, held at Hotel Taj Mahal Palace, Mumbai.
The summit, a flagship initiative of CII, aims to unlock the economic potential of Eastern India through state-specific sessions, policy roundtables, and investor-government dialogues.
Delivering the keynote address, Shri Singh Deo emphasised Odisha’s strategic advantages for industrial investment. “Odisha offers an investible proposition with its mineral wealth, deep-water ports, robust connectivity, and abundant land and natural resources,” he stated. He highlighted the state’s focus on building integrated industrial ecosystems and export-oriented manufacturing corridors, positioning Odisha as a hub for anchor manufacturing, advanced technology, and greenfield value chains.
Quoting the Hon’ble Prime Minister’s call to invest in East India, the Deputy CM extended an open invitation to industrialists to explore opportunities in Odisha. He further announced that the state government has grounded 56 projects worth Rs 1.78 lakh crore, with a job potential of 1.11 lakh, and aims to generate one lakh new jobs to ensure inclusive growth.
The summit witnessed participation from key dignitaries, including Bihar Deputy CM Shri Samrat Choudhary, Bihar Industries Minister Shri Nitish Mishra, Chhattisgarh Finance Minister Shri O P Choudhary, CII Eastern Region Chairman Shri Shashwat Goenka, CII Western Region Chairman Shri Rishi Kumar Bagla, and the MSME Dept. Odisha Commissioner-cum-Secretary Shri D Prasanth Kumar Reddy. Entrepreneurs, investors, and officials from Bihar, Chhattisgarh, and West Bengal also attended, reinforcing the summit’s role as a catalyst for regional transformation.
