Odisha Rejects Over 4 Lakh Ghost Ration Cards Amid PDS Reforms

The Odisha government has rejected 4,08,107 ghost ration cards as part of its efforts to streamline the state’s Public Distribution System (PDS).


Supplies Minister Krushna Chandra Patra shared this information in a written response to Congress MLA Tara Prasad Bahinipati during an Assembly session.

The minister also disclosed that 2,318 ineligible beneficiaries have voluntarily returned their ration cards. This accounts for 87,844 families who have given up their cards after being identified as ineligible.
