In a landmark move poised to reshape Odisha’s cricketing future, the Odisha Cricket Association (OCA) has announced the launch of the Odisha Pro T20 League (OPTL), slated to debut in September 2025.
With six franchise-based teams representing diverse regions across the state, OPTL promises high-octane competition and a robust platform for emerging talent to shine alongside the finest in domestic cricket.
Speaking on the league’s vision, OCA Secretary Sanjay Behera described OPTL as a “transformative step” toward placing Odisha at the heart of India’s cricketing map.
The league is backed by Arivaa Sports, a strategic management partner with experience executing successful T20 formats in Bengal, Vidarbha, and Saurashtra.
Arivaa Co-Founder Rajneesh Chopra emphasised the league’s role in “driving grassroots development” and spotlighting hidden talent.
OCA is now inviting organisations to participate in the Franchise Ownership process, with Expressions of Interest (EOI) available at from July 7–13, 2025. The selection will follow a merit-based evaluation, prioritising long-term commitment to cricket.
Further updates will unveil team structures, player draft details, the tournament schedule, and commercial partnerships.
