The Council of Higher Secondary Education (CHSE), Odisha, began the internal assessment examinations for Plus Two (Class 12) students today, and the move marks a key milestone in the academic calendar ahead of the 2026 board exams.
Over 373,910 students from Arts, Science, Commerce, and Vocational streams are appearing for these assessments, and the exams will continue until December 31, 2025. Schools and colleges are conducting the evaluations, which include tests, project work, and practical components. Moreover, these assessments contribute significantly to final grades.
This year’s schedule follows the timetable released earlier this month, and institutions must complete evaluations and submit marks by January 25, 2026. Consequently, the initiative reinforces CHSE’s emphasis on continuous assessment, which aims to promote holistic learning and reduce dependence on year-end theory exams.
Furthermore, the Annual Higher Secondary Exam 2026 theory papers will take place from February 18 to March 21, 2026, while practical exams are scheduled for January. CHSE officials have urged institutions to strictly follow guidelines, and they emphasised the importance of fair and transparent evaluation.
In addition, students should maintain consistent performance, since internal marks play a crucial role in overall scoring under the updated pattern. With the process underway, the state education department expects smooth conduct across all affiliated colleges.
