Bhubaneswar: The fourth phase of Panchayat Elections in Odisha kicked off on Tuesday with much enthusiasm but with caution and security in place.
As per the data released by the State Election Commission (SEC), about 20 per cent of voters have turned up to exercise their adult franchise till 9 am today.
In the fourth phase of elections, around 51.31 lakh people are to decide the fate of 667 candidates who are in the fray for 163 Zilla Parishad seats across 29 districts.
Voting is being held in a total of 17,089 booths, including 2,563 sensitive booths, during this phase. A total of 257 platoons force have been mobilised supplemented by 1,473 mobile patrolling units.
