Cuttack: Preparations for the Matric Summative-2 examination have reached the pinnacle as the test is all set to begin from tomorrow.
The Board of Secondary Education (BSE) has made elaborate arrangements for the smooth conduct of examination.
The exams will start at 8 a.m. and students will have to arrive at the Centre an hour early on the first day. The question paper will reach the examination centre in a police escort, officials said.
“We are going to conduct summative 2 exam of high school, Madhyama and Open School tomorrow. Over 5.41 students will appear for the test at 3218 centres across the State. The question Papers have already reached the nodal centres. As many as 316 nodal centres have been set up out of which 22 centres are at police station in sensitive areas,” Ramasis Hajra, BSE president said.
Mobile phones of teachers and students will not be allowed to in to the examination hall. Teachers will have to deposit their cell phones at a designated place in switch off mode.
The question papers will be taken to the examination centre by the Despatch team in police custody. The vehicle of the district administration will also escort the vehicles carrying the question papers. It has been directed by the chief secretary, BSE vice president Nihar Ranjan Mohanty said.
Notably, the examination is all set to start on March 10 and will continue till March 17.
Chief Secretary has directed the Energy department uninterrupted power supply during the entire examination. Mobile phones have been banned during the examination too. Students have been asked to deposit their mobile phones with the centre superintendents. If anyone is found carrying his/her mobile phone, action would be taken against them as per Odisha Conduct of Examination Act, 1988.
The question paper packets will be opened in front of the students.
