In a focused effort to enhance citizen-centric urban governance, the Housing & Urban Development Department of Odisha has announced a Special Grievance Redressal Drive across all Urban Local Bodies (ULBs) in the state. The dedicated drive will run from 22nd to 25th July 2025.
The initiative aims to expedite the resolution of pending public grievances received through various channels, including Jana Sunani, the Centralised Public Grievance Redress and Monitoring System (CPGRAMS), local helpdesks, and other platforms.
All Municipal Commissioners and Executive Officers of Municipalities and NACs have been instructed to deploy appropriate teams, strengthen grievance-handling systems, and ensure backlog complaints are resolved within the stipulated time frame.
The drive will address issues related to sanitation, water supply, drainage, street lighting, waste management, building plan approvals, and other civic services. The initiative underscores the state government’s commitment to responsive, accountable, and efficient urban service delivery.
ULBs have been directed to submit an Action Taken Report (ATR) by 29th July 2025, detailing the number of grievances resolved, system improvements implemented, and citizen feedback collected.
A senior department official noted, “This drive reinforces our commitment to ensuring last-mile service delivery and responsive urban governance.”
Citizens are advised to reach out to their local ULB offices or follow official communication channels for further updates.
