To provide speedy justice and resolve women’s grievances early, the Odisha Government launched ‘Nari Adalat’ (women’s courts) in 10 aspirational districts on Saturday.
Deputy Chief Minister and Minister for Women and Child Development Pravati Parida virtually inaugurated the women’s courts. She emphasised that the initiative aims to guarantee safety, dignity, and justice for women. Moreover, she described the Nari Adalats as a significant step toward empowerment and holistic development of women and children.

Law Minister Prithiviraj Harichandan and senior officials from the ten districts also joined the programme, thereby underscoring the collaborative effort behind the initiative.
During the occasion, the government introduced several new projects. First, it launched the observance of National Girl Child Week under the Beti Bachao, Beti Padhao campaign. Next, it inaugurated modern kitchen facilities at Utkal Balashram in Puri and the newly constructed Utkal Balashram with a modern kitchen in Jajpur. In addition, the Deputy Chief Minister unveiled the guidelines for the Palana Yojana and laid the foundation stones for Samanwita Vatsalya Sadan in Khordha and Gajapati districts.
Furthermore, the programme witnessed wide participation. Principal Secretary Shubha Sharma, Director Monisha Banerjee, and other senior officials attended. At the same time, district collectors, district social welfare officers, and Anganwadi workers from across the state joined virtually, ensuring representation from all corners of Odisha.
