Bhubaneswar: Odisha Chief Minister Naveen Patnaik said the State is emerging as a research hub and it is already dominating the education sector.
Attending the foundation stone laying ceremony of IIM Sambalpur’s permanent campus which was addressed by Prime Minister Narendra Modi on Saturday, Patnaik said he was happy that with the establishment of IIM, IIT, NISER, IISER, AIIMS, NLU and many other institutions of national Importance, it is emerging as a leading research hub of the country.
The Odisha CM said the state has a tradition of educational excellence since ancient times and added that it is always in the forefront of education and research.
Patnaik said education in Odisha is witnessing a rapid transformation and added that the state government is fully committed to convert it as the most preferred educational hub in the country.
The Chief Minister said the ‘Skilled in Odisha’ has already become an international brand and added that our focus is to train our youth in the latest technology.
The IIM Sambalpur has been aspiring to be the leading entrepreneurial hub in Odisha and has entered into an MoU with the Ministry of Small and Medium Enterprises.
Patnaik said it has already proved its mettle as one of the premier management institutions of the country in five years.
He congratulated and thanked the Chairman, Director, Faculty and Staff of IIM for their commitment to make IIM, Sambalpur one of the best management institutions in the country. The Chief Minister urged the Prime Minister to set up more central institutes in the state in the future.
