Bhubaneswar: Odisha ranked among the top ten states in the country that have recorded higher positive cases during the second wave.
Khordha district figured among the top-40 in the indices of Covid-19 positive tally.
As per the IIT Kanpur report, Odisha with over 6.54 lakh cumulative positive cases till mid-August has been ranked as the 10th state with high cumulative coronavirus cases during the second wave. The dubious table is led by Maharashtra with over 43 lakh cases and is followed by Kerala with over 26 lakh cases.
The infection rate in the State is measured at around 1.45 per cent.
With regards to the total Covid-19 mortality in the second wave, the State with 4,720 deaths till the end of the second week of August has been at the 16th rank among the 20 major states.
