The Odisha University of Health Sciences marked its Second Foundation Day with a grand ceremony at the State Convention Hall of Lok Seva Bhawan.
The event was graced by Governor Dr. HB Kambhampati, who emphasized bridging disparities in healthcare and creating a robust health system across Odisha, extending from urban hospitals to the remotest corners of the state.
The Governor called for a collective effort to build a “Developed Odisha” and a “Developed India,” underscoring the importance of medical education and research in achieving these goals. He encouraged medical students, healthcare professionals, and faculty members to rise to the challenges ahead with sensitivity, ethics, and dedication.
Highlighting the University’s commitment to innovation and excellence, Dr. Kambhampati described it as a beacon of hope and a significant step toward making Odisha a leader in health sciences education. The University’s new journals, magazines, and e-journals were launched during the event, symbolizing its dedication to knowledge and research.
The occasion also celebrated the contributions of renowned personalities such as Prof. Rabinarayan Acharya, Padmashri Dr. Ashok Mahapatra, and Kamal Jeet Singh. Speeches by these luminaries inspired the audience to contribute to a vibrant, sustainable healthcare ecosystem. The Vice Chancellor, Prof. Dr. Manas Ranjan Sahoo, delivered the welcome address, and the Registrar, Ms. Santoshi Sahoo, closed the ceremony with a vote of thanks.
