Following the exposure of corruption in the Sub-Inspector (SI) recruitment examination, the Odisha government has requested detailed reports on all previously cancelled exams. Instructions have been issued to all recruitment boards and commissions to submit these reports, covering cancellations from June 2024 to the present day.

A letter from the General Administration and Public Grievance Department, has been sent to all government departments, the Chairman of the Odisha Police Recruitment Board, the Chairman of the Odisha Police State Selection Board, the Chairman of the Odisha Police Ministerial Staff Selection Board, the Chairman of the Selection Board (Police), the State Project Director of Odisha Adarsha Vidyalaya Sangathan, the State Project Director of Odisha School Education Programme Authority, the Secretary of the Odisha Public Service Commission, the Secretary of the Odisha Staff Selection Commission, the Secretary of the Odisha Subordinate Staff Selection Commission, and the Secretary of the State Selection Board (Higher Education).

The letter specifies that comprehensive information on all recruitment exams cancelled from June 2024 onwards must be compiled in a prescribed format. The reports are to be prepared as soft copies and emailed to the department. These reports will be provided to higher authorities, as mentioned in the letter.

Meanwhile, in response to the SI exam corruption, an emergency meeting was held at Lok Seva Bhawan under the chairmanship of the Chief Secretary Manoj Ahuja. The meeting included the Home Secretary, along with Odisha Police Recruitment Board (OPRB) Chairman Susanta Nath, OPRB member IPS Abinash Kumar, and some senior OPRB officials.

In the evening, Chief Secretary Manoj Ahuja convened another high-level meeting to review the situation. Attendees included the Home Secretary, Police DGP, OPRB Chairman, and members.

After the meeting, OPRB Chairman Susanta Nath informed the media that they are awaiting the completion of the Crime Branch investigation. Subsequent steps will be taken thereafter. Discussions also covered interim matters, and OPRB’s approach was communicated, as stated by Mr. Nath.
