In a remarkable move to support persons with disabilities, the Odisha government has announced an increase in the monthly pension for individuals with 80% or more disability.
Beginning in June, beneficiaries will receive Rs 3,500 under the revised pension scheme.
The decision comes as part of the government’s broader initiative to improve the financial stability of disabled individuals across the state. As of January, 4,17,000 individuals had been receiving disability pensions. Following the latest update, an additional 83,135 beneficiaries have been included in the program.
With this expansion, nearly 5 lakh disabled individuals will benefit from the revised pension structure, ensuring better financial assistance for their well-being and livelihood. The Odisha government’s initiative underscores its commitment to inclusivity and social welfare.
