Bhubaneswar: Chief Minister Mohan Charan Majhi announced that havildars, constables, and sepoys will receive one month’s salary in advance at the revised wage rate.
Speaking at an event by the Odisha Police Havildar-Constable-Sepoy Association in Cuttack, the CM stated that uniform allowances would increase from Rs 5,000 to Rs 10,000, and vehicle allowances from Rs 300 to Rs 1,000.
“Police will receive an extra month’s salary as an additional benefit. The long-overdue motorcycle allowance is being raised. In response to the association’s demands, the uniform allowance will also be increased to Rs 10,000,” declared CM Majhi.
Additionally, he announced the establishment of a new office for the Odisha Police Havildar-Constable-Sepoy Association.
For enhanced industrial security, CM Majhi revealed plans to set up 6 OISF (Odisha Industrial Security Force) battalions and create 6,000 new posts.
Following a recent initiative to strengthen the state’s police, CM Majhi last Thursday allocated 30 ERSS vehicles to the Bhubaneswar-Cuttack Commissionerate Police. These vehicles, part of the ‘Dial 112’ service, are equipped to provide rapid emergency response with medical, fire, and rescue services, complete with oxygen tanks, stretchers, and fire suppression equipment.
