The Odisha government has allocated over Rs 12.79 crore for the construction of a permanent palace (Raj Mahal) for the Dhanu Yatra, the world’s largest open-air theatre, in Bargarh district.
The announcement was made through an official letter from the State Tourism Department and shared by Bargarh MLA Ashwini Kumar Sarangi.
The Raj Mahal will be built on the playground of Nishamani High School in Bargarh town, with the project following relevant plans and estimates.
The government will retain ownership of the completed assets. Chief Minister Mohan Charan Majhi had previously visited the designated demon king Kansa’s durbar and announced the construction of the Raj Mahal.
