In a heartwarming gesture on the occasion of Makar Sankranti, Odisha Governor Dr. Hari Babu Kambhampati visited the beautifully adorned Lok Bhavan Garden this afternoon and spent quality time with children who had come to explore the premises.
The Governor greeted the young visitors warmly, extending Sankranti greetings and exchanging affectionate words with them. He distributed chikki, chocolates, and pens to the delighted children, spreading festive joy and smiles all around.
The Lok Bhavan Garden, renowned for its lush greenery and scenic beauty, has been open to the public from January 10 to January 20, drawing thousands of visitors daily from Bhubaneswar and other parts of the state. A major highlight this year is the newly developed “Atal Ban” (Atal Van) — an ecological park inaugurated recently — which added to the charm and attracted families and school groups.
Expressing his happiness, the Governor said, “Meeting children amidst these lush green gardens and witnessing their enthusiasm brings me immense joy.” He emphasised that such places provide children with a safe, natural environment for healthy recreation and learning, contributing significantly to their overall development and well-being.
Dr. Kambhampati also expressed satisfaction over the overwhelming public interest in visiting the Lok Bhavan premises. He described it as encouraging to see people enjoying and appreciating the serene environment, reflecting a strong connection between the people and this iconic space.
Since opening to the public, the garden has seen a steady influx of thousands of visitors each day, making it one of the most popular spots in the capital during this festive season.
