The President of India, Smt. Droupadi Murmu is set to visit Odisha on July 14-15, 2025, for a series of significant engagements in Bhubaneswar and Cuttack.
A high-level state preparatory meeting, chaired by Chief Secretary Manoj Ahuja, was held today at Lok Seva Bhawan to ensure the smooth execution of the President’s itinerary.
On July 14 evening, the President will attend the 5th Convocation Ceremony of the All India Institute of Medical Sciences (AIIMS) in Bhubaneswar, marking a milestone for the institution’s graduates. The following morning, she will grace the 13th Annual Convocation of Ravenshaw University in Cuttack and lay the foundation stone for the upgradation of Ravenshaw Girls’ High School, emphasising educational advancement.
In the afternoon of July 15, President Murmu will visit Sharala Bhawan in Tulasipur, Cuttack, to pay tribute to Odisha’s Adikabi Sharala Das on his 600th birth anniversary. She will also present the prestigious “Kalinga Ratna Award-2024” during a literary event organised by the Sharala Sahitya Sansad.
Arriving in Bhubaneswar from New Delhi on July 14 via a special Indian Air Force plane, the President will stay at Raj Bhavan during her visit and return to the capital on July 15. Comprehensive arrangements have been outlined, including airport logistics, security, motorcade planning, medical facilities, road maintenance, cleanliness, and uninterrupted power supply with backup generators. Contingency plans have also been mandated to ensure a seamless visit.
The meeting saw participation from key officials, including Development Commissioner Smt. Anu Garg, Additional Chief Secretary (Home), Satyabrata Sahu, Director General of Police, Y.B. Khurania, secretaries of relevant departments, the Revenue Divisional Commissioner (Central), and collectors of Cuttack and Khordha. Chief Secretary Ahuja urged all departments to collaborate for the successful execution of the President’s visit, highlighting its importance for Odisha.
This visit underscores President Murmu’s commitment to education, culture, and Odisha’s rich literary heritage, promising to leave a lasting impact on the state.
