In a significant relief for aspiring students from farming families, the Odisha government’s Department of Agriculture and Farmers’ Empowerment has extended the online application deadline for the Krishi Vidya Nidhi Yojana to December 20, 2025.
The Krishi Vidya Nidhi Yojana is a flagship scholarship initiative under the CM-KISAN scheme, designed to support the higher education dreams of children of eligible beneficiaries. It provides financial assistance for professional and technical courses, proving to be a boon for students pursuing advanced studies.
Originally, applications for the 2025-26 academic year were open from October 15 to November 30. However, following numerous requests from students even after the deadline passed, the department decided to extend the timeline for online applications and verification processes.
As per the latest decision:
- The last date for students to submit online applications is December 20, 2025.
- Institutions must complete application verification by December 25, 2025
- District-level Chief Agriculture Officers will approve applications and forward them for state-level scholarship disbursement by January 25, 2026.
The department has urged all eligible students to take advantage of this extended opportunity and apply without delay through the official portal.
