Chandikhol: Odisha Chief Minister Naveen Patnaik on Tuesday heaped praises on Prime Minister Narendra Modi and appreciated his efforts to make India an economic powerhouse.
Prime Minister Shri Modi arrived at Bhubaneswar this afternoon on a day-long visit to Odisha. Soon after his arrival, he flew to Chandikhol in Jajpur district to inaugurate and lay the foundation stone for multiple developmental projects.
On this occasion, the CM paid homage to the Legendary icon Biju Patnaik and said, “I pay my deepest respects to him on this occasion. Biju Babu was a visionary leader. The country, even abroad, has made an important contribution to the struggle for independence. He worked his entire life for the development of Odisha.
In 1990, Biju Babu thought of making ‘Kalinganagar’ (Odisha) an industrial hub. Today, Odisha has become the steel hub of the country. Not only Odisha, but the entire country is benefiting from it.
The Chief Minister welcomed PM Modi and said, “Hon’ble Prime Minister has set a new direction for India. He is taking India on an accelerated drive to make it an economic powerhouse. India is now the 5th largest economy marching forward to be the number 3 in a few years.
Happily, Hon’ble Pradhamantri started many projects for Odisha today including Chandikhol-Paradeep NH, many NH raw expansions, Desalination plant, LPG terminal, gas pipeline, various projects like new train”.
He thanked the Prime Minister for his focus on the development of Odisha.
“Today Odisha is going to become a major manufacturing hub of East India. In the field of infrastructure development, both social and physical infrastructure, there has been a transformation in Odisha today. Today, Odisha has become the top second state in the country in terms of investment.
With the blessings of Lord Jagannath and the good wishes and cooperation of crores of Odias, the Sri Mandir Parikrama Project and the Samalei Project have been launched. The conversion work of Maa Biraja’s temple is going on. Development is the new identity of Odisha today. There is still much work to be done. the CM added.
CM also said, “I seek the support of the Hon’ble Prime Minister in the endeavour of 4.5 crore people of Odisha. I wish the cooperation of the Prime Minister in the efforts of four and a half crore people of Odisha for the development of Odisha.
