Odisha Chief Minister Mohan Charan Majhi on Sunday joined locals at Chandrasekharpur Shishu Bihar to listen to Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s 125th edition of ‘Mann Ki Baat’.
The Chief Minister, who had lived in the area for eight years earlier, was warmly welcomed by residents and children, who were delighted to have him among them.
Speaking after the programme, Majhi described ‘Mann Ki Baat’ as a “source of endless inspiration” for millions across the country.
PM Praises Odisha’s Rashmita Sahu
During his address, Prime Minister Modi praised Rashmita Sahu, an Odia canoeing champion, who recently won two gold medals at the Khelo India Canoeing (Water Sports) Championship. The PM spoke to Rashmita and commended her achievements.
CM Majhi highlighted Odisha’s growing sports infrastructure, noting that Rashmita trained at the Jagatpur SAI Centre under the Odisha Kayaking and Canoeing Association, where he himself once served as President and now continues as Chief Patron.
Felicitations to Local Citizens
On the occasion, the Chief Minister also felicitated local citizens, including senior social workers Rajendra Barik and B.B. Mishra, along with Shishu Bihar Yoga Centre head Bishwanath Nayak, Bharati Pradhan, and L.D. Sahu. Members of temple committees, women’s groups, and Ward No. 6 community leaders were also honoured.
