Ahead of the Shree Ram Navami festival on March 27, Chief Minister Mohan Charan Majhi chaired a high-level meeting at Lok Seva Bhavan today and issued firm instructions to the police administration to ensure peace and law and order throughout Odisha.
Recalling the successful and peaceful celebration last year in 2025 due to extensive police vigilance, the Chief Minister directed similar proactive measures this year, including large-scale deployment of police personnel and proper coordination for smooth festival management.
“Lord Shree Ram Chandra’s birth anniversary is celebrated with deep devotion and reverence across the country. It is the responsibility of the police administration to ensure that devotees and faithful in Odisha can observe this sacred festival peacefully and without any hindrance,” the Chief Minister said. He stressed that everyone should be able to celebrate the festival safely and smoothly.
The meeting was attended by the Chief Minister’s Advisor, Prakash Mishra, Chief Secretary Anu Garg, Additional Chief Secretary (Home) Hemant Sharma, Director General of Police Y.B. Khurania, Additional DGP (Law & Order) Sanjay Kumar, Intelligence Director R.P. Koche, Bhubaneswar-Cuttack Police Commissioner Shri Suresh Dev Datta Singh and other senior officials.
