Cuttack: Odisha Chief Minister Naveen Patnaik inaugurated the Annual National Conference of the Indian Academy of Forensic Medicine today.
Addressing the delegates from across the country and around the World on the virtual platform, Patnaik stated, “Scientific deliberations on issues in Forensic Medicine will throw new lights on emerging techniques, advanced knowledge and newer tools.”
“The forensic interpretation of an event, involving the human body, and mind, is a vital component of the criminal justice system. Legal proceedings require evidence to find out the real perpetrators of crime. Here, forensic science comes handy in providing concrete evidence. Therefore, sophisticated knowledge in forensic science is crucial to the dispensation of justice,” the Odisha CM added.
He also described SCB Medical College and Hospital as the backbone of healthcare in Odisha. “institution has a glorious history of academic excellence. It’s alumni have distinguished themselves in their professional capacities in various institutes of national and international repute. Now, the state government has started the process of transformation of this great institute to a global standard healthcare institute with all the modern amenities.,” Patnaik said.
Concluding his speech he wished for the success of “Forensic Medicon 2021”.
