A secretary-level meeting chaired by Chief Secretary Smt. Anu Garg was held today at the conference hall in Kharavela Bhawan to review key administrative and developmental priorities.
The meeting was attended by Development Commissioner-cum-Additional Chief Secretary Deo Ranjan Kumar Singh, Additional Chief Secretaries Surendra Kumar and Hemant Sharma, Principal Secretary to the Chief Minister Saswata Mishra, and principal secretaries, commissioners, and secretaries from various departments.
Chief Secretary Garg stressed the importance of regular field visits by secretaries, directing them to specifically monitor ongoing drinking water projects during district tours. She asked officers to identify reasons for delays in piped water supply schemes and provide on-ground solutions to ensure timely completion, highlighting that safe drinking water remains a critical need for rural communities.
The meeting also reviewed progress on the implementation of 15 priority programs directed by the Chief Minister, with departments reporting on actions taken and further steps planned.
Financial performance for the 2025-26 fiscal year was discussed in detail. Expenditure up to December 2025 was analysed, showing an overall increase of 10% compared to the previous year, while program-specific spending rose by 15%. Revenue collection from various sources recorded a growth of 7.82% over the corresponding period last year. Departments were instructed to meet their assigned revenue targets, propose innovative initiatives for the upcoming budget, and conduct special reviews of central grant utilisation.
The Law Department presented a proposal to identify and repeal obsolete laws that are no longer relevant.
It was also announced that the monthly virtual review meeting with all District Collectors, usually held on the 16th of each month, will take place on January 22 this month due to prior commitments. Additionally, the state-level Single Window Clearance Authority meeting and review of MoU-signed projects will continue on the third Tuesday of every month.
The Chief Secretary issued necessary directions and guidelines to ensure targets are met across departments in line with approved budget allocations.
