Bhubaneswar: The Odisha cabinet is set to convene a crucial meeting at Lok Seva Bhavan on Wednesday at 8:30 pm.
The cabinet plans to review several significant proposals and is expected to finalize 4-5 major agendas. Chief Minister Mohan Charan Majhi will preside over the meeting, which aims to discuss and pass key proposals. In the last two cabinet meetings, a total of nine proposals were approved.
The council of ministers, led by Chief Minister Mohan Charan Majhi, has sanctioned the draft annual budget for the fiscal year 2024-25, which is approximately Rs 2.65 lakh crore.
This budget of Rs 2.65 lakh crore for 2024-25 exceeds the previous projection of Rs 2.55 lakh crore, which was put forth by the former BJD government during the interim budget in February, before the Lok Sabha and Assembly elections, according to a trustworthy source.
The budget increase is primarily attributed to the government’s planned investment in the Subhadra Yojana initiative, which is set to be inaugurated on September 17, coinciding with Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s birthday.
