Bhubaneswar: The Odisha Cabinet on Wednesday approved the proposal to restructure the Odisha Administrative Service (OAS) cadre including the creation of 220 new posts.
In order to mitigate the increasing workload and keeping in view the multiple activities involved and expanding new assignments the matter of restructuring the Odisha Administrative Service (OAS) cadre was under consideration of the Government for some time with a view to create additional posts as per administrative requirements as well as evolve an optimal pyramidal structure in the OAS cadre that would also take care of the promotional aspiration of the officers.
The State Government has approved to restructure the OAS Group A (Senior Branch) and above Grades of the Odisha Administrative Service cadre in the following, manner.
According to an official notification from the State General Administration & Public Grievance (GA&PG) Department.
- The total cadre strength of the Odisha Administrative Service (GAS) shall be 2, 123. The detail cadre strength and corresponding Pay Matrix are given in the table below.
- The principle of interchangeability of posting between OAS (SS) and OAS (SAG): OAS (SAG) and OAS (S): OAS (S) and OAS Gr.A (SB) and OAS Gr.A (S.) and OAS Gr.A(J0). subject to maintaining the seniority of reporting officer. would be followed while posting the officers in the field. This will give flexibility to the Government, in posting of experienced persons in key positions in the field as well as at various levels of the Government.
- The posts identified in the cadre schedule of the Odisha Administrative Service Cadre can be utilized for posting of Officers from other Cadres as and when required in exigency of public service.
- The conditions for requirement of minimum residency period for promotion to different Grades of the OAS Cadre by amendment to the .0disha Administrative Services (Method of Recruitment and Conditions of Service) Rules, 2011 shall be consider. by a High-level Committee constituted for the purpose.
- This has been concurred in by the Finance Department in the GA & PG Department OSWAS File No. GAD-SER2-ID-0013-2020.
- This will come into force with immediate effect.
