Bhubaneswar: In a slight relief from biting cold, Odisha registered a gradual rise in the minimum (night) temperature in the past 24 hours.
As per a bulletin issued by the India Meteorological Department (IMD), Sundergarh was the coldest place in the State with a minimum temperature of 8 degree Celsius. Daringbadi and Phulbani in Kandhamal district recorded a minimum temperature of 8.5 degree Celsius, while the temperature was 10 degrees at Boudh, 8.8 degrees in Titlagarh and 10.4 degrees at Keonjhar.
A total of nine towns in the State recorded minimum temperatures below 12 degrees.
Sonepur, Bolangir and Jharsuguda recorded a minimum temperature below 11 degree Celsius on Friday night. Similarly, Cuttack and Bhubaneswar recorded a minimum temperature of 13.5 and 14.6 degree Celsius, respectively.
