With no specific weather system active over Odisha, the regional meteorological centre has forecast a rise in night temperatures accompanied by increased fog.
Over the past 24 hours, fog has been reported in 12 cities, while six cities experienced cold nights with temperatures dipping below 10 degrees Celsius. Dense fog was recorded in Bhubaneswar, Nayagarh, and Paradip, with thick fog in Kendrapara and Puri, and moderate fog was observed in seven other locations.
Following the forecast of rising minimum night temperatures, G. Udayagiri recorded the lowest at 7 degrees Celsius. Other chilly spots included Daringbadi at 7.5 degrees, Phulbani at 8.5 degrees, Semiliguda at 9.5 degrees, Koraput at 9.8 degrees, and Nabarangpur at 10 degrees.
A very dense fog warning has been issued for the next five days. For Sunday morning, an orange warning is in place for Nayagarh, Cuttack, Khordha, Puri, Jagatsinghpur, and Kendrapara districts, while a yellow warning covers 12 districts.
Starting from Sunday night, the regional meteorological centre has alerted that night temperatures across the state will undergo changes and trend downward.
