Bhubaneswar: Ahead of the commencement of the Monsoon session this year, BJP legislative party is going to select a new opposition leader. This was informed by BJP MLA Kusum Tete on Sunday.
She said that Odisha Assembly will have a new opposition leader due to the ailing health of the leader of the opposition Pradipta Kumar Naik.
She further said that the MLAs have sent a proposal to party president J P Nadda and state president Samir Mohanty citing the necessity of a new opposition leader to raise the important issues in the upcoming monsoon session.
Speaker Bikram Keshari Arukha has called an all-party meeting on June 29 ahead of the monsoon session.
Notably, the monsoon session of the Odisha Assembly will commence on July 2. It will have 24 working days and this will continue till August 4.
