The Odisha Legislative Assembly marked Constitution Day with a solemn reading of the Preamble of the Indian Constitution Today.
Speaker Surama Padhy led the special programme and read out the Preamble. The event saw the participation of several top leaders and officials of the House. Present on the occasion were Chief Minister Mohan Charan Majhi, Deputy Chief Minister Kanak Vardhan Singh Deo, Chief Whip of the ruling party Saroj Pradhan, Chief Whip of the Opposition Pramila Mallik, Leader of the Congress Legislature Party Rama Chandra Kadam, Parliamentary Affairs Minister Dr Mukesh Mahaling, Deputy Speaker Bhabani Shankar Bhoi, Deputy Chief Whip of the ruling party Gobind Das, MLAs Jaynarayan Mishra and Ranjan Ekka, Assembly Secretary Satyabrat Raut, along with all officers and staff of the Assembly Secretariat.
The collective reading reaffirmed the Assembly’s commitment to the values and principles enshrined in the Constitution of India.
