Bhubaneswar: As the country is facing an oxygen crisis amid a massive surge in COVID-19 cases and hospitals are demanding more of the life-saving gas, Odisha has stepped up Oxygen supply.
In the last 5 days, a total of 90 tankers carrying over 1675 metric tonne (MT) medical oxygen from Angul, Dhenkanal, Jajpur, and Rourkela in Odisha were sent to Telangana, Andhra Pradesh, Tamilnadu, Haryana, Maharashtra, Madhya Pradesh, Chhattisgarh and Uttar Pradesh.
According to the latest data, 19 tankers carrying 324.079 MT have been sent to Telangana, 30 tankers with about 644.72 MT to Andhra, 1 tanker with 15.98 MT to Tamilnadu. Similarly, 8 tankers with about 187.512 MT have been dispatched to Haryana, 6 tankers with about 112.06 MT to Maharashtra, 15 tankers with about 215.82 MT to Madhya Pradesh, 4 tankers with about 61.44 MT to Chhattisgarh, 7 tankers with about 114.17 MT to Uttar Pradesh.
