The Odia Jatra industry finds itself embroiled in fresh controversy as Sonali, a prominent actress, faces serious allegations from her own 12-year-old son.
In a dramatic appeal at Krushnaprasad police station, the boy claimed his father, Shreekhetra Prasad Samanta Singhar, is the target of a conspiracy and demanded a DNA test to prove his parentage.
According to the minor, he has lived solely with his father since birth and accused industry figure Nandu Babu of orchestrating a plot to malign his father. “My mother left me after birth. I’ve never lived with her. Now they want to punish my father unfairly,” he stated in a written complaint.
This development follows Sonali’s earlier complaint at Balichandrapur police station, where she alleged that Shreekhetra forcibly married her when she was a minor. The resurfacing of this claim has intensified scrutiny and raised the possibility of legal action against Shreekhetra.
Despite the gravity of the situation, both Sonali and Nandu Babu have remained silent, offering no public response. The incident has sparked widespread debate within the Jatra community, highlighting deep familial discord and the emotional toll on children caught in legal crossfires.
