Three central observers appointed by the Election Commission of India held a crucial meeting with all legislative candidates and their representatives in Nuapada district ahead of the upcoming by-election scheduled for November 11.
The observers—Prakash Bindu (IAS), Atul Pandey (IRS), and B Shankar Jaiswal (IPS)—joined the session at the Collector’s conference hall. Their presence marked the Commission’s commitment to conducting the Nuapada by-election with complete transparency, neutrality, and peace.
District Collector and Election Officer Madhusudan Das welcomed the observers and briefed attendees on the meeting’s purpose. Deputy Collector Sheikh Nasim Pawar presented detailed insights on election procedures, expenditure monitoring, and law-and-order protocols.
The Nuapada by-election observers emphasized strict adherence to electoral norms. They shared essential guidelines with candidates to ensure smooth operations during the poll period. The meeting covered practical aspects of election conduct, including expenditure tracking and security arrangements.
All candidates and their teams received instructions on maintaining decorum and following the Model Code of Conduct. The observers assured that every step would be monitored closely to prevent malpractice.
