The “Hack the Future” hackathon, hosted collaboratively by NSO India and IIT Gandhinagar, concluded with exceptional success on March 24, 2025.

Aimed at addressing real-world challenges through data science, the 36-hour event witnessed participation from 18 leading academic teams hailing from institutions like IITs, NITs, and IIITs.

Under the mentorship of experts from academia, industry, and the Ministry of Statistics & Programme Implementation, participants crafted solutions to three innovative problems. The event celebrated multi-stakeholder collaboration and highlighted the modernization initiatives of MoSPI.

Winning teams included Plaksha University, Chandigarh, which topped two categories, and Rajiv Gandhi Institute of Petroleum Technology, leading the remaining category.
