London: The fugitive diamantaire Nirav Modi has filed an appeal in UK High Court seeking permission to challenge extradition order by the lower court.
The UK government on April 15 had signed an order for the extradition of Nirav to India.
Nirav is wanted in India on the charges of fraud and money-laundering. He was arrested in March 2019 in London being charged with money laundering and defrauding Punjab National Bank (PNB) of over Rs 11,000 crore.
He faces multiple charges by the Central Bureau of Investigation and the Enforcement Directorate.
