A man named Prakash Mohanty was arrested for allegedly murdering his two minor sons in the Dhanchangada village under Fatehgarh police limits in Nayagarh district.

The victims, aged 14 and 11, reportedly opposed their father’s second marriage, leading to the tragic event.

According to the police, Prakash, with the assistance of the boys’ grandmother, allegedly strangled his sons and attempted to stage the incident as a suicide. Initial reports from the family claimed the boys had killed themselves, but a thorough investigation by the police revealed otherwise. The case has sent shockwaves through the local community, raising concerns about family dynamics and domestic conflicts.

The local authorities have arrested both Prakash and the grandmother, and they are currently in police custody. This case highlights the dire consequences of unresolved family disputes and the need for greater awareness and intervention in domestic matters.
