Odisha’s former Chief Minister Naveen Patnaik celebrated his 79th birthday by joining BJD’s Jan Sampark Padayatra in Bhubaneswar and spending time with children at SOS Village.
In the morning, Patnaik walked through Ganganagar’s Biju Adarsha Colony, engaging with party workers and citizens. He thanked the public for their birthday wishes and emphasized BJD’s commitment to serving the people of Odisha.
Addressing the gathering, Patnaik said BJD stands with the people and will continue its mission of service. He advised party workers to remain dedicated and reaffirmed his pledge to serve “Mother Odisha” till the end.
The event, led by BJD Bhubaneswar President Ashok Chandra Panda, saw participation from senior leaders including Debi Prasad Mishra, MPs Debashish Samantaray and Sarmistha Deo, MLAs Pramila Mallik, Ananta Narayan Jena, Sushant Rout, and Bibhuti Balabantray. Mayor Sulochana Das, Deputy Mayor Manjulata Kanhar, and BJD’s MP candidate Manmath Rautray also attended.
Later, Patnaik visited SOS Village, where children welcomed him warmly. He cut a cake prepared by them, distributed gifts, and shared chocolates. He expressed joy in celebrating his birthday with the children and blessed them to grow into good human beings.
This year’s Jan Sampark Padayatra began on October 9 and will continue until November 9. Naveen Patnaik’s birthday celebration highlighted his enduring connection with the people and his humble leadership style.
