Biju Janata Dal (BJD) president and Leader of Opposition Naveen Patnaik continued his series of consultative meetings with party legislators on Wednesday evening at Naveen Niwas, engaging with another 10 MLAs in the third phase of discussions.
The meetings focused on constituency-specific issues, strengthening party organisation at the grassroots level, and strategies to highlight what the BJD terms as the state government’s “anti-people” policies.
Patnaik advised the MLAs to intensify party programmes across villages and actively inform the public about the government’s shortcomings. He particularly enquired about ongoing development works in their respective constituencies, with special emphasis on farmers’ problems and the current status of paddy procurement.

Stressing the core ideals of the Biju Janata Dal, the former Chief Minister urged the legislators to remain committed to public service and continue working for the people’s welfare.
The MLAs who attended today’s meeting included Barsha Singh Bariha, Manohar Randhari, Dhruba Charan Sahoo, Ramesh Chandra Behera, Ganeshwar Behera, Prashant Kumar Behera, Nalinikanta Pradhan, Dibyashankar Mishra, Pradeep Kumar Disari, and Abhimanyu Sethi.
These interactions are part of Patnaik’s ongoing efforts to reorganise and energise the BJD following the party’s transition to opposition role after the 2024 assembly elections.
