Cuttack: As the Indian Premier League (IPL) auction for 2022 is inching closer, BCCI has finalized a plan to add two more teams to the most popular cricket league.
The tournament will be a 10-team event for the year 2022 and Naveen Jindal from Jindal Steel and Power has expressed interest in owning the franchisee of Cuttack.
The Odisha Cricket Association (OCA) is also making all efforts to make Cuttack one of the IPL venues, said its Secretary Sanjay Behera.
The association is in talks with several private organisations who can be potential buyers for the Cuttack franchisee.
English Premier League heavyweights Manchester United’s owners, the Glazer family, are reportedly interested in buying a new Indian Premier League (IPL) franchise. And speculations are rife over Cuttack’s name for the franchise race while Ahmedabad and Lucknow are the top contenders owing to the bigger capacity venues.
