Bhubaneswar: Odisha Chief Minister Naveen Patnaik on Tuesday congratulated cricketer Shiv Sunder Das on being appointed as batting coach of the Indian Women’s Cricket Team.
“Congratulations Shiv Sunder Das on being appointed as Batting Coach of the Indian Women’s Cricket Team. May the team flourish under his mentorship and bring laurels for the country,” tweeted the Odisha CM.

The BCCI has appointed the former India opener Shiv Sunder Das as the batting coach of the Indian women’s team for the tour of England.
Das, who has played 23 Tests between 2000-02, has a decent average of near 35 with more than 1300 runs, including two hundreds and nine half centuries.
He has honed his skills as a batting coach at the National Cricket Academy under Rahul Dravid’s guidance.
