The Indian Energy Congress, in collaboration with IIT Bhubaneswar and NIST University, successfully organized a two-day national seminar on “Energy Access and Security in Emerging Energy Transition.”
Held on 17th and 18th March 2025 at IIT Bhubaneswar, the seminar brought together experts from academia, industry, and regulatory bodies to deliberate on critical aspects of energy transition.
Inaugurating the event, Prof. Shreepad Karmalkar, Director of IIT Bhubaneswar, highlighted the pressing need for translating theoretical research into real-world solutions. He emphasized the institute’s commitment to achieving “Net Zero Energy.” Prof. Sukumar Mishra, Director of IIT (ISM) Dhanbad, stressed integrating traditional knowledge with modern technologies like Artificial Intelligence for a sustainable energy transition.
The seminar witnessed participation from distinguished speakers, including Dr. Sukant K. Mohapatra of NIST University, Prof. P.K. Parhi of the Indian Energy Congress, and international experts like Prof. Xinliang Feng and Prof. Thomas Heine from Germany. Discussions ranged from renewable energy and energy storage to electric vehicles and policy frameworks.
The event provided a platform for industry-academia collaboration, enabling participants to address challenges and explore cost-effective, sustainable solutions for greenhouse gas reduction. The seminar’s outcomes aim to guide India’s efforts in achieving energy security and sustainability in the face of global challenges.
